Sphere on Spiral Stairs

About Me

My name is Sabrina. I go to Blue Valley West and I am 15 years old. I like to hang out with friends and family, play volleyball, and clean/organize in my free time. I like listening to music and I love traveling. I love traveling to Canada to see my mom's side of the family almost every break. I'm half-American and half-Canadian. I did Tae Kwon Do for 3 years and am a second-degree black belt. I played volleyball for 4 years. I have always loved photography. The whole process of rolling your film, putting it in your camera, and developing your photo is such a cool process to me. Here are some of my favorite pictures...

This picture was taken at Heritage Park. My cousins and I would always go here when we were little and always wondered what was inside of this building. This is one of my very first films. I really like this photo because it gives the vibe of something creepy like it's out of a scary movie. This took some time to get right because the middle of this building was super dark. I dodged it and gave it less time to develop and then it looked a lot better. I like that it shows the details of the building and what the building really looked like.

This photo is from my very first film. I really like this photo because I think it's very good for one of my first photos ever using a camera I've never used before. I really like how there are pure blacks and pure whites in this photo. It makes the photo look a lot better. I also really like the shadows that the car has. And that the car has reflection on it so you can see what is surrounding it.

This is a solarization of my previous photo. Solarization is basically when exposing a partially developed photograph to light, before continuing processing, creating halo-like effects. I really like how this turned out and the difference between the first photo and this photo. I like how the police sign looks a lot cooler and it gives a loud vibe. I also like how the wheel turned out. Solarization brought out the details in my photo and I really like that. It shows the indents in the wheels as well as the mirror at the top.

This photo was actually my mom's idea. I think it's really funny. This was for "The Things I was Grateful For" film. I like that you can see all the details on the hardwood floor and the shadows the toilet paper is making. I also propped up my camera on the trash can.

This was one of my burned photos. Burning is basically putting a lighter to your film and you can stretch it out, while it's hot, and it looks really good. I burned it and used my finger to make the fingerprint on the left.  I had to be super careful when putting the lighter to the film because it burns/melts really fast so you have to be super careful with that.

This photo was taken at the church I volunteer for. I really like this photo because of the branch and the architecture of the church. I've always thought that this church was really big and had a nice look to it. The branch makes it spooky and the architecture makes it looks sharp. I like how the photo is focused on both the branch and the building.  I like how you can see the details, both, on the building and the branch.

This photo was obviously taken at Quicktrip. I was on a mini road trip to see my cousins. I like the way the light is reflecting off the car. I also like that there's this pole in front for some reason. I like that you can also see the gas pump on the right. I also really like this photo because Quicktrip has the best snacks. I took this picture outside of the window of my car.

This photo was taken downtown Olathe. I like that there are trees behind the sign and that the sign is the main focus. This photo just looks super sharp and I really like that. I like that the background of the sign is dark and it makes the words pop out. It makes it look really good.

This photo was taken on my way back from Thanksgiving break. I went to California and the airport was super busy. I thought it would be perfect for an action shot. I like how this turned out because there are pure blacks and pure whites in this photo which makes it look really good and I like that you can see the people walking. It looks like they are in a big rush. It makes the photo feel alive and look alive. I also really like this photo because I love traveling. I didn't have my tripod so I set my camera on the seat and propped it up with my backpack and it worked.

This is one of my favorite photos. I stuck my head out of the top of the car while it was about 45 degrees. I really like how the buildings and cars go together. I like that you can see the cars moving on the right. I had to dodge this picture because the sky was coming out too light and the things around them weren't popping up, but when I dodged it and added more time to the specific spot and it came out a lot better. This photo gives a city vibe and I love being in the city. It reminds me a lot of New York. I also like the architecture of the buildings.
